EXPERT GUIDES WITH MANY TALENTS

Our versatile guides are highly accomplished outdoor professionals who know their region like the back of their hand and are the key to our success. They’re not just tour guides but come from a broad range of academic and adventurous backgrounds – they are anthropologists, sociologists, geologists, economists, photographers, mountaineers, white-water rafters, and intrepid explorers. While their talents are varied, they will also act as your translator, travel concierge, personal history nerd, host, safety expert, fellow traveller and on-the-spot problem-solver. Our guides have travelled and lived all over the world, speak a dozen languages between them and will help you at every point in your trip – whether you’re in need of medical help, advice for tomorrow’s hike or a partner in sampling the local schnapps.

We have made a careful selection of lodging properties that are unique expressions of their region – some even had a previous life as a small castle or barn. Our aim was to choose local gems that offer a memorable experience as well as comfortable and clean accommodation. While they are not all 5 star hotels they are unsurpassable in their uniqueness, location and the hospitality of your hosts.

We will be happy to send you a detailed itinerary of the tour and answer each and every question you might have before, during and after your trip. As soon as you’ve booked one of our tours we will also send you an email that includes all the essentials you need to start getting ready for your trip, such as arrival and departure details, suggestions for pre-vacation or extending your stay, regional facts and info, what to pack, recommended reading and useful websites, etc.

SMALL GROUPS

Our Guided Walking Tours count a maximum of 16 guests and our Guided Cycling Tours a maximum of 15 guests. This assures you more time with your expert guides, whose knowledge and enthusiasm make each destination come alive. Our smaller group size also allows you the freedom to choose what you value most – add some extra miles to your hike/ride, opt for a relaxing afternoon at the spa or do some local shopping instead?
