This post is dedicated exclusively to accommodation establishments that we, as local experts with over 22 years of experience as a tour operator, are confident that hotels mentioned in the text can make any type of tour comfortable. The following text is therefore based on our own experience and experiences of our knowledgeable guides, who take care of you during the tour and, apart from the accommodation, are the main part of TrekTrek – comfortable adventures team. In the following, we will present a few hotels, separated by geographical location in Slovenia. These are not the only places we visit during our tours, since Slovenia, as the awakening gem of Europe, is big and has a lot to offer despite its small size.

The most beautiful glacial valley in Europe

Let’s start in the Logar Valley, where the hotel Plesnik is located. At the foot of the Kamnik – Savinja Alps and in the heart of the Logar Valley, considered as one of the most beautiful glacial valleys in Europe, the Plesnik hotel is the place to be. In the heart of pristine nature, you will find a relaxed atmosphere, tranquility, fresh air and the lush rocks of the surrounding mountains. After a day of cycling along the Solčava Panorama Road or visiting the Rinka Waterfall, what better way to end the day than enjoying the hotel’s swimming pool, which offers a unique view of the surrounding countryside.

The jewel of the Alps

Bled, whose little island with its church has become almost a hallmark of Slovenia, appearing in the vast majority of pictures, is also a home of hotel Triglav. Bled, or as we like to call it, the jewel of the Alps, is a destination not to be missed when visiting Slovenia. Like most important buildings, the Triglav Hotel has a perfect view overlooking the lake. You can admire the view from their restaurant, garden and swimming pool, and for more romance, the lake view is adorned with the peaks of the Alps in the background. The interior of the Triglav Hotel itself gives a special feeling, created by paintings and photographs that take you back to 1906, and their special antiques from their extensive collection add to the atmosphere. The Triglav Hotel, which shares its name with the highest peak of the Slovenia, is not only good micro-located in Bled, offering excellent views and comfort, but is also a good starting point for alpine hut-to-hut hiking trip or other hikes in the Julian Alps.

Intact nature of the Triglav National Park

The glacially transformed valley, the source of the Sava Bohinjka River, is where Bohinj is located in the intact nature of the Triglav National Park. The most recognizable and astonishing natural site of destination is Lake Bohinj, the biggest lake in Slovenia. Bohinj abounds in unique natural beauties and spectacular landscape. That’s why the hotel Majerca is located in such a paradise. The hotel is a combination of modern and traditional customs of Gorenjska region, which was well thought by Slovenian architects and designers. Hotel’s restaurant offers an excellent ambience in a natural setting, open to all visitors, with home-made food prepared according to a local recipe, to which they themselves add a modern touch.

Not far from Bled, the hotel Špik is located near Kranjska Gora, in the Gozd Martuljek. The hotel offers quiet accommodation and beautiful views of the peaks of the Julian Alps such as Špik, Široka Peč, Kukovo špico and other peaks, which reach over 2400 m (7900 ft.) in height. The interior of the hotel will surprise you with its unique materials, which are natural origin, that is even more evident when enjoying the Alpine environment. Wood as a natural material adds beauty, warmth and last but not least, the friendliness that the hotel Špik provides. Valley of the emerald green Soča river

If you were to continue from Kranjska Gora via the most scenic mountain road in Slovenia, through Vršič pass, you would definitely have to spend a few days in Dobra Vila Hotel Bovec. Bovec is another one of those Slovenian towns where every visitor can find a small place of their own by the pictures emerald Soča river or under the many high peaks of the Julian Alps. Hotel Dobra Vila is the perfect choice for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, but at the same time stay in touch and surrounded by intact nature and the broadly ridge that winds above the hotel from the Visoki Kanin, through Prestreljenik and Črnelška špica to Rombon on the northern side and Polovnik on the southern slope. The hotel offers eleven rooms, but make sure you take enough time to make the most of what the hotel has to offer. With the flow of the emerald green Soča river, whose turquoise water never fails to inspire we come to Kobarid. Kobarid is home of the Casa Franko. The Casa Franko is a must-see place for anyone coming to Slovenia for a culinary tour. In addition to the restaurant run by our dear friend Ana Roš – the best female chef of 2017, who has also put Slovenia on the culinary map of the world, it offers excellent accommodation. Ana’s food is mainly seasonal homegrown and local food, which is also reflected in the hotel rooms. In addition to the homely feel, there is a hint of a 19th-century country inn, where guests and the Kramar – Roš family used to live under the same roof. Today, the hotel has 10 double rooms, allowing you to relax after dinner in the restaurant, which was the first in Slovenia to be awarded by two Michelin stars in the year 2020.

Slovenian Tuscany

The sunny vineyards of Goriška brda, or Slovenian Tuscany as we call it, with a dash of Mediterranean flair, is a place for every traveler who enjoys wine. Hotel Gredič is a unique object built about 400 years ago but lately completely renovated. It is situated in the heart of the Goriška Brda and the view from the rooms offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding vineyards. From the infinity pool to wine tasting in the hotel’s own wine cellar, the Hotel Gredič offers guests a variety of relaxing opportunities to blend into the local environment and express the character of the vineyard environment.

Pictures seaside town

Like Hotel Gredič in Goriška brda, Hotel Prian is the perfect choice for any traveler who likes to spend their free time on a cycling trip. The Hotel Piran is located in the eponymous town of Piran, one of Slovenia’s most pictures seaside towns. The Venetian influence is most easily felt when strolling through the town’s colorful houses as it is close to Venice, whose influence was much more present in the past. The hotel offers a distinct and direct access to the sea and the beach. The hotel’s rooftop terrace is also a standout feature, providing the perfect place to watch the sunset while enjoying fresh seafood from the Adriatic Sea, in addition to panoramic views of the city.
